San Diego, CA.

On August 23, 2023, following a two-week trial, a San Diego jury returned verdicts totaling $2,560,018, comprised of $860,018 in compensatory damages and $1,700,000 in punitive damages, in favor of San Diego resident Tara Glina and against her former employer, a prominent financial advisor and frequent contributor to local and national news. The verdicts are among the largest in any recent San Diego single plaintiff employment trial.

Glina claimed she had been wrongfully terminated in 2020 for insisting on following California’s stay-at-home order during the pandemic when her longtime employer pressured her to report to work, and that before she was terminated, she had been subjected to a years-long pattern of sexual harassment.

Glina was represented by lead trial counsel David Cardone along with Adam Yarbrough, both partners of Dunn DeSantis Walt & Kendrick, and Steven Kastner of the Law Offices of Steven Kastner.

The trial court subsequently reduced the amount of punitive damages, but awarded legal fees and costs, and entered judgment in favor of Glina in the amount of $2,351,031.76. Judgment was recently satisfied.
