Biography
Howie is an experienced litigator representing plaintiffs in legal malpractice, employment, and catastrophic personal injury cases. Prior to joining DDWK, Howie was a member of the litigation department in the New York office of an AmLaw 100 firm, where his practice centered on complex commercial litigation and environmental torts.
Since becoming an attorney, Howie has maintained an active pro bono practice focused on domestic violence, immigration, and civil rights. In NYCLU v. City of Syracuse, et al., Howie helped secure an appellate victory that made police misconduct records publicly available throughout New York State.
Howie grew up in San Mateo, California. He earned his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia, where he served as a member of the Student Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in California and New York, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He has served on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program (SDVLP) since 2023.
In his free time, Howie enjoys music, beach volleyball, yoga, and spending time with friends and family. Howie is an avid baseball fan; he has attended several historically important San Francisco Giants games and interned for the New York Yankees before attending law school.
